What to expect

What is this treatment and how does it work?

Neurotoxins like Botox and Jeuveau briefly relax the muscles that crease the skin, softening frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. Juvederm filler is a gel that restores volume and definition where the face has lost it, such as the lips and cheeks.

Who is this best for?

Adults who want to soften expression lines or restore lost volume — from first-timers who want a subtle refresh to patients maintaining a look they already love. Every new patient starts with a free consultation.

What skin concerns does it address?

Dynamic wrinkles (frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet), volume loss in the lips, cheeks, and jawline, and asymmetries. It does not treat skin texture or pigment — those are better suited to facials, microneedling, or laser.

What benefits can I realistically expect?

A softer, natural, rested look — softened lines, not a frozen face. Neurotoxin results appear over 3–7 days and last about 3–4 months; filler looks natural immediately and lasts from 6 to 18 months depending on the area.

What happens during the appointment?

We talk through your goals, assess your facial movement and structure, and agree on a plan and price before anything is injected. The injections themselves use very fine needles and take only minutes.

How long does it take, and what is the downtime?

Most appointments take 15–45 minutes. Downtime is minimal: small bumps or slight bruising can appear for a day or two. We ask you to avoid rubbing the area, lying flat, and heavy exercise for the first day.

How often will I need treatment?

Neurotoxin is typically repeated every 3–4 months to keep lines smooth. Filler lasts longer — most patients return every 6–18 months depending on the product and area.

Who should avoid this treatment?

Injectables are not done during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, or over an active infection at the treatment site. We review your full health history before your first treatment.

How should I prepare, and how do I care for my skin after?

Before: come with a clean face, and skip alcohol and unnecessary blood thinners like ibuprofen if it is safe for you, to reduce bruising. After: don't rub or massage the area, stay upright for 4 hours, and avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours.

“I absolutely loved my microneedling experience with Makenzie! She explained everything in detail before getting started and made sure I knew exactly what to expect. I really appreciated her taking the time to explain how my skin might feel and look in the days following the treatment. She made me feel comfortable, answered all of my questions, and made the whole experience so easy and relaxing. I’m already anxious to see the results and would definitely recommend Makenzie to anyone considering microneedling!”
